Meet Katie and Chef Chuy
Chuy’s culinary roots began with homemade Mexican food and family-owned taquerias. His first job in the United States was in a restaurant at age 15. Years in the kitchen and professional culinary training while working for Halliburton in Houston deepened his skills and love of international cuisine.
From Mexican and Italian to Indian and Asian cooking, Chuy brings bold flavors, creativity and the comfort of home cooking to every menu. He has long been the person family and friends turn to when it is time to gather and eat.
Katie brings a love of hospitality, beautiful presentation and thoughtful details. Having learned the art of hosting and event planning from a young age, she knows how the little touches make a celebration feel personal.
A shared love of food and hospitality
Katie and Chuy first worked together in an Italian restaurant. Today, they bring their strengths to Perez Mountain Table: Chuy in the kitchen with flavors and creativity, and Katie with the vision, organization and finishing touches. With their student team alongside them, it is a whole family affair.
A menu with your story at its heart
Tell us about the dishes you grew up with, the flavors you love or the way you want your guests to feel. We work closely with couples and event hosts to curate a custom menu across cuisines, with buffet, plated and family-style options. There is no minimum guest count or minimum spend.

Based in Southwest Colorado, we serve Durango, Silverton, Ouray, Telluride and Mancos, Colorado, and Farmington, New Mexico. Travel is available.
